Mayer & Cie. Reports Better-Than-Anticipated 2007 Performance

Germany-based circular knitting machinery manufacturer Mayer & Cie GmbH & Co. KG reported
its financial performance in 2007 was better than expected, with sales of 1,690 machines
representing a 5.2-percent increase over 2006 sales.

According to the company, sales of its BASICLine series machines for both single- and
double-jersey applications were a significant contributor to its overall success. In addition, its
Relanit single-jersey machine series was an important contributor, with 520 units sold in 2007.

The family-owned company, now being managed by members of the fourth generation of Mayers,
continues to invest in new technology developments and existing technology upgrades, as well as in
training programs for new and future employees. The company also reported it is committed to
maintaining its operations in Germany and its headquarters in Albstadt in Baden-Württemberg.
Currently, the circular knitting machinery core business employs 510 workers, and there are 42
trainees in Albstadt.
