The environmental services business of Atlanta-based GE Energy has established a new facility in
Shanghai in order to better serve its customers in the area. The facility, which consolidates
several operations at other locations, consists of 7,000 square meters of laboratories, office
space and production facilities.
The new facility manufactures industrial air filtration products, and waterproof breathable
membranes for performance outerwear and microfiltration applications. Production began in October
2007 and will increase in three phases through October 2008.
“China is an important growth region for our environmental services business and inaugurating
this new manufacturing facility in Shanghai will give us the opportunity to further expand our
footprint in the region,” said Daniel Heintzelman, president of GE Energy’s environmental services
business. “Most importantly, this new world-class production facility will enable us to improve
customer excellence while delivering products to our customers.”
