The Germany-based Hohenstein Institutes have opened a contact office in Tirupur, India, to serve
textile producers in southern India. The new office joins the institutes’ Mumbai office to offer
Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification of products and testing of standard materials and merchandise,
in addition to conducting performance and treatment process testing.
The services of the new office will benefit European companies that have their products
manufactured in India by shortening the time required to conduct and deliver test and certification
results in the region, and allowing for more person-to-person customer service onsite at company
locations. Laboratory testing will continue to be conducted at the institutes’ headquarters in
Germany.
In related news, the Hohenstein Institutes now offer on-site product inspection services in
China, India and Turkey. Services range from testing at the preproduction stage to monitoring
loading of company containers on ships.
The institutes plan to offer onsite inspection services in other countries
as demand grows.
