In an effort to help Chinese textile mills reduce energy and water usage, the All China Printers
And Dyers Association has published a manual presenting approaches dyers and finishers may take in
order to make their processes more efficient, economical and environmentally friendly. Suggestions
include adopting Germany-based A. Monforts Textilmaschinen GmbH & Co. KG’s E-Control process
for continuous dyeing and Monforts’ latest heat recovery system for its Montex tenters.
E-Control achieves dyeing results with woven and knitted fabrics in minutes rather than the
typical 12 to 24 hours required with other processes. Results are immediate when the process is
used in discontinuous processes, enabling fabrics to be processed immediately.
According to Monforts, the heat recovery system found on Montex tenters achieves a 30-percent
reduction in energy usage by capturing waste heat used in thermal processing and exhaust air and
discharging it into the heat exchanger where it is used to preheat fresh air.
In recognition of these technologies, the association presented Monforts representatives with
certificates of appreciation at its recent annual meeting in Changzhou, Jiangsu province.
