Clariant International Ltd., Switzerland, has sold its Textile Chemicals, Paper Specialties and
Emulsions businesses to SK Capital Partners, United States, for $470 million.
The businesses are now part of Archroma, a new Switzerland-based company led by CEO Alexander
Wessels. Archroma Paper Solutions is managed from Switzerland, while Archroma Textile Specialties
is managed from Singapore and Archroma Emulsion Products, from Brazil.
The sale includes the transfer to Archroma of 2,900 Clariant employees and 25 production
sites in 35 countries. The existing heads of the businesses continue to serve as follows: Thomas
Winkler, president, Textile Specialties; Helmut Wagner, president, Paper Solutions; and Dominik von
Bertrab, president, Emulsions Products.
