Intertextile Pavilion Shenzhen Expands To Three Halls As Suppliers Target Growing Domestic Market

HONG KONG — May 16, 2013 — As the domestic textile market goes from strength to strength, suppliers
continue to seek new market opportunities in China. This year, nearly 600 exhibitors will use the
Intertextile Pavilion at the Shenzhen International Trade Fair for Apparel Fabrics and Accessories
as their access point to the Southern China textile market. Halls 6 – 8 at the Shenzhen Convention
& Exhibition Centre will host suppliers from China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Pakistan
and Taiwan on 22,500 sqm of floor space — an increase of over 30% on 2012.

The fair, to be held from 11-13 July, is located in Shenzhen, the largest ladieswear garment
production hub in China. Around 2,500 apparel companies and over 800 fashion brands are located
there. The city is also in close proximity to several high-end garment manufacturing cities
including Zhongshan and Shaxi – specialists in casual wear – and Huizhou, which specialises in
menswear. Strategically held in Shenzhen, the fair will enhance more business opportunities.

Shenzhen’s apparel industry production value was more than RMB100 billion in 2012, while
exports were approximately USD10 billion. Ms Wendy Wen, Senior General Manger of Messe Frankfurt
(HK) Ltd, organiser of Intertextile Pavilion Shenzhen, believes the location of the fair is an
attractive selling point to exhibitors. “This huge market provides unlimited opportunities for
companies looking to expand their business in China, and shows why many domestic and international
fashion brands continue to attend this fair,” she said.

In 2012, more than 13,000 buyers from 24 countries and regions visited the fair to source the
latest high-quality fabrics and accessories for casual wear, ladieswear and functional / sportswear
items, as well as shirting fabrics.

Debut Korea and India pavilions add diversity to exhibitor line-up

In addition to individual exhibitors, two debut country pavilions will showcase the best on
offer from Korea and India. The Korea Pavilion, co-organised by the Korea Fashion Textile
Association, will host around 40 suppliers. And the India Pavilion will feature around 10
exhibitors, and is organised in conjunction with Texprocil, the Cotton Textiles Export Promotion
Council of India.

This fair will run concurrently with the 13th China (Shenzhen) International Brand Clothing
& Accessories Fair in halls 1 and 9, which will include a fashion show located in hall 5.

Intertextile Pavilion Shenzhen is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd; the Sub-Council of
Textile Industry, CCPIT; and the Shenzhen Garment Industry Association.
