Teijin’s Three Thai Polyester Facilities Resume Full-scale Operation

TOKYO — November 1, 2012 — Teijin Limited announced today that Teijin (Thailand) Limited in the
Bang Pa-in Industrial Estate of Thailand’s Ayutthaya Province, which was flooded by torrential
rainfall in October 2011 and then resumed partial operation in February this year, returned to
full-scale production on October 31. All three Teijin Group polyester production facilities in
Thailand affected by the flooding are again operating normally. 

The other two facilities – Teijin Polyester (Thailand) Limited in Pathum Thani Province and
Teijin Cord (Thailand) Co., Ltd. in the Rojana Industrial Park of Ayutthaya Province – resumed
full-scale production in September and August, respectively. 

With these three facilities operating normally, output will focus on high-profit,
high-performance products that strengthen the Teijin Group’s competitive edge in global polyester
fiber production.

Status: Operation suspended on Oct. 16, 2011, partially resumed on Feb. 9, 2012 and resumed
fully on Sep. 28, 2012.

Teijin (Thailand) Limited

Location:  Bang Pa-in Industrial Estate in Ayutthaya Province

Main business: Manufacture and sales of polyester filament yarn and staple fiber

Status: Operation suspended on Oct. 12, 2011, partially resumed on Feb. 29, 2012 and resumed
fully on Oct. 31, 2012.

Teijin Cord (Thailand) Co., Ltd.

Location: Rojana Industrial Park in Ayutthaya Province

Main business: Manufacture and sales of core materials used in the carcasses of transmission
belts for production machinery

Status: Operation suspended on Oct. 8, 2012, partially resumed on May 3, 2012 and resumed
fully on Aug. 1, 2012.

Thai Namsiri Intertex Co., Ltd.

Location: Textile plant: Wellgrow Industrial Estate in Chachoengsao Province; Dyeing plant:
Samut Prakan Province        

Main business: Manufacture and sales of polyester textile

Status: Has continued to operate normally (not impacted by floods)
