NAVI MUMBAI, India – June 16, 2010 — DyStar India has emerged to carry the legacy of colors to
newer dimensions providing more scientific and logical combinations to explore the new avenues of
lives.
Official opening ceremony of new facilities of DyStar India and Texanlab Laboratories was
held on 2nd June 2010 during the evening hours at Four Seasons Hotel, Worli, Mumbai. The opening
ceremony was attended by leading textile industry owners and key personnel from across the country.
Mr. Manish Kiri, CMD-DyStar group addressed the gathering by giving details on the acquisition of
DyStar and future investment plan in Asia including India.
Mr.Bart van Kuijk, CMO-DyStar Group spoke about new organization, vision & mission. Mr.
Rajesh Balakrishnan, President- South Asia spoke about the commitment to India and new path.
Mr. Ullhas Nimkar, Director of Texanlab Laboratories Private Limited, addressed the gathering
briefing about history of Texanlab and the future plans.
A video presentation covering the new facilities of DyStar gave a brief about DyStar’s wide
range of dyes, auxiliaries and services and various innovations from DyStar. DyStar was the first
to launch a luminous reactive dye for cotton. a range of high visibility dyes for polyester, liquid
indigo dye for the manufacture of blue denim as well as the first to come up with various path
breaking technologies in reactive dyes, disperse dyes, vat dyes and several others. The production
facilities, which is situated in the heart of industrial belt of Gujarat at Ankleshwar, was also
shown.
The highlight of the evening was the launch of the first of its kind CSI Colour Studio and
the Advanced Academy for Development Of Textile Technologists (AADTT) at the DyStar India
facilities at Rabale, Mumbai.
The CSI Colour studio is aimed at providing international and Indian brands, designers and
retailers a large variety of color options and services. The Studio provides three sources of
selection of colors; The first is color wall- color references and color wall books held in two
volumes, second is color library- a unique collection of 6000 shades available, the third one is
custom colors, which is developed depending upon the customer’s shades and fastness requirement.
The AADTT, a unique initiative in co-operation with Alok Industries Limited, is aimed at
recruiting students from partnering textiles institutes across the country, upgrading their
knowledge, technical and leadership skills through a unique curriculum designed by DyStar and Alok
and offering these well trained professionals to the industry to meet the growing demand for
competent people. The Academy will start with the first batch of recruits in June 2010.
Texanlab Laboratories Private Limited offers textile and analytical testing services across
the supply chain from yarn to fabric, garments, home textiles, dyes and chemicals. The wide ranges
of textile testing facilities are divided in physical, chemical, and ecological tests. Apart from
regular parameters, Texanlab specializes in testing for GOTS, CPSIA, Restricted Substances and
chemical parameters as per European and American requirements. In the new,ISO/IEC 17025
accredited state-of-the-art laboratory, Texanlab aims to continue its 26 year tradition of offering
fast, accurate and reliable testing services to the Indian Textile
Industry.
