Germany-based Oerlikon Barmag reports it engineered and installed a polycondensation plant, and
assembled and commissioned the plant as well as a downstream partially oriented yarn (POY)
polyester spinning system for a company in India. The process took place over a six-and-a-half
month period, and the plant began production in the fall of 2009.
The new facility currently manufactures 150 tons of polyester chip and 150 tons of POY per
day. Annual capacity totals 100,000 tons.
