Vertically-integrated denim fabric producer Orta Anadolu, Turkey, recently installed a Montex 7000
TT tenter from Germany-based A. Monforts Textilmaschinen GmbH & Co. KG. The tenter expands the
company’s capabilities in the area of coated fabrics.
“Demand for coated denim fabrics to achieve many new effects such as a softer handle or a
shiny surface has increased considerably in the past few years,” said A. Adnan Polat, dyehouse
manager, Orta Anadolu. “Our customers are always looking for new fabrics which allow them to
differentiate their products from the competition and our aim is to constantly supply them with new
ideas and options.”
Orta Anadolu, which was founded in 1953 as a spinning and weaving operation, supplies such
customers as Lee®, Gap®, Levis®, Diesel, Tommy and Wrangler®. In 1986, the company added dyeing and
finishing and started making denim. Currently, it has the capacity to produce 45 million meters of
fabric each year, 95-percent of which is denim.
“We are well-known for new developments and good service, and this new line will help us
maintain our reputation in both respects,” Polat said. “The is the fourth tenter from Monforts so
we now know the company very well and they know us. Our relationship is very good.”
The Montex 7000 TT tenter features four 4-meter long chambers, and a TwinAir-X circulating
air system with a cross-type arrangement of the nozzles. According to Monforts, the latest design
operates with even nozzle pressure and is more economical to operate than previous designs. “The
fabric is heated from two sides with very good temperature regulation and heat distribution,” Polat
said. “It is also very user friendly and we know from our other machines that the chain is very
powerful. Due to the vertical sliding doors, the stenters have also become much easier for access
and cleaning.”
