Oerlikon Textile Sells Ermafa To Focus On Core Business

Germany-based Oerlikon Textile GmbH & Co. KG has sold Ermafa Kunststofftechnik Chemnitz GmbH —
a company within the Oerlikon Barmag business unit — to Donton Technologies GmbH — a subsidiary of
Germany-based Donton Industrial Holding GmbH, which acquires industrial plants in Germany for the
purpose of improving their profitability. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Oerlikon Textile sold Ermafa — a provider of machinery and components for the plastic and
rubber processing industry — as part of its strategy to focus on its core textile machinery
business, according to Dr. Carsten Voigtländer, CEO, Oerlikon Textile.

Oerlikon Barmag specializes in man-made-fiber spinning and texturing machinery.

“In order to enhance our competitiveness, we are increasingly specializing in our core
business along the textile value added chain,” Voigtländer said. “This core business comprises
high-class total solutions in textile machinery engineering and in the production and the
processing of natural and man-made fibers, yarns and nonwoven fabrics.”

Donton Technologies has changed its name to Ermafa Technologies GmbH. The company plans to
expand the Ermafa operation in Chemnitz, Germany, and retain the 40 employees at that location.
