Indian Color Care, a subsidiary of India-based apparel manufacturer International Stitches, has
installed a Monforts Interknit line in order to continue International Stitches’ expansion into
fabric processing and apparel manufacture.
The Monforts Interknit line installed at Indian Color Care
The new line — the first to be installed in India — is 2.4 meters wide and
will be used as a nonstop finishing line for relaxing and compressive shrinking of knitted fabrics.
The Interknit consists of a fabric inlet section, edge gluing, stretching field, relaxation dryer,
leveling field, compressive shrinking unit and fabric delivery section. Networking with Monforts’
Qualitex automation technology enables the line to be operated by a single person.

“The market now expects a lot of properties in respect of hand and feel and
sheen, which this unit will allow us to provide,” said S. Chitambaranathan, CEO, International
Stitches. He added that the company is looking to expand into warp knitting through the possible
acquisition of a certain European warp knitter.
