WestPoint Stevens Opens Shanghai Office
							
WestPoint Stevens Inc., a U.S.-based home textiles marketing company, has opened its new
							China sourcing office.The company says the office, located in the WestGate Mall Building in
							Shanghai, will continue the company’s drive to improve global product development, quality
							assurance and logistics.William T.Walker, managing director and president, Asian Operations, said
							as China continues to grow as a global supplier, having a presence in Shanghai is vital. “It will
							enhance our already strong position in Asian sourcing, enable us to build closer relationships with
							our current sourcing partners and expand our reach by giving us access to an even broader Asian
							supply base in multiple product categories,” he said. Currently, offshore sourcing represents more
							than $400 million of WestPoint Stevens’ revenues.The new office has six associates now, but it is
							expected to add another six by year-end.The team is led by sourcing coordinator Mingzi Ye, who
							recently joined the company to help facilitate the office opening.
