HONG KONG— November 5, 2026 — Sustainable and high-performance textile and textile technology developer Schotex Global® Co. Ltd., announces the appointment of René Gagell as head of its weaving department.
Gagell brings more than 25 years of experience in the textile industry, specializing in weaving technology and mechanics. He spent nearly two decades at Schoeller Textil AG, where he began as a weaving supervisor before advancing to head of the company’s weaving department, a position he held for 12 years.

Schotex Global operates from a state-of-the-art manufacturing site in Kaiping, Guangdong, China, within the Panther Textiles Holding group of manufacturing facilities. As part of its commitment to producing premium performance textiles, the company invested in a complete set of European weaving machinery for the new facility, combining advanced manufacturing technology with Swiss textile expertise.
Based in Switzerland, Gagell also enjoys traveling, working on cars, riding motorcycles, and spending time with friends.
