Crystal International Strengthens Supply Chain Collaboration In Vietnam With New Fabric Innovation

HONG KONG — May 23, 2023 — Crystal International Group Limited (“Crystal International” or the “Group”) expedites sustainable action and eco-projects in Vietnam. The latest move is to boost local collaboration on fabric innovations, while expanding the capability in vertical development and local sourcing to benefit the environment. Crystal Denim (the denim division of the Group) partners with several fabric manufacturers in Vietnam to launch different fabric collections for greener production and speedier product development.

Crystal Denim is scaling up sustainable practices in Vietnam. Crystal Denim has newly set up a 3D team in Vietnam to expand virtual sampling in the factory, shortening sampling lead time and proactively reducing sample wastage. The team is expecting to improve virtual development capability by 50% in 2023. The denim factory also widely adopts laser technology, waterless enzyme, green chemistry, front-loading and E flow washing machines for less chemical usage and low water ratio eco-wash during the laundry process.

Recently, Crystal Denim collaborated with Advance Denim and Prosperity Textile respectively to pave a path for enhanced vertical development in Vietnam. The new fabric innovation comprises 9 different fabrics, making up more than 20 products. As an indication of fashion circularity, the collection co-developed with Advance Denim is 100% made from recycled materials, including recycled pre-consumer cotton, recycled spandex and recycled polyester, entering the next phase of 100% recycling. Crystal Denim combines fully recycled content from Advance Denim with Infinity Blue Wash sustainable technique to produce green jeans that generate more fabric characteristics and shades.

For the other fabric collection co-launched with Prosperity Textile, the products are biodegradable that are kind to the planet. Focusing on applying sustainable materials, the collection provides comfortable stretch, beautiful marbling and authentic look with diverse characters in creating denim styles.

By partnering with domestic fabric mills to localise supply chain, Crystal Denim can significantly shorten transportation, reduce carbon emissions and energy consumption by 25% respectively, shorten lead time by 80%. “We spearhead local sourcing and accelerate supply chain collaboration in Vietnam to build synergy. All of us share common goals to initiate sustainable denim fabric and develop exclusive jeans for our customers,” said Miles Lam, Assistant General Manager of Crystal Denim.

Extending the practice of local sourcing can embrace collaboration opportunities with partners. Crystal International will continue to develop sustainable products along the supply chain for leading the garment manufacturing industry.
