The Hohenstein Institute — a Germany-based textile research and testing laboratory with locations
worldwide — has opened a new contact office in the Dominican Republic and another in El Salvador,
as well as two offices in Colombia — one in Bogata and one in Medellín. The institute also has
added an office in Ahmedabad, India, which is its fifth contact office on the Indian subcontinent,
and has relocated its office in Istanbul, Turkey.
All new contact offices, excluding the office in El Salvador, offer the Hohenstein
Institute’s various consulting, testing and certification services as well as Oeko-Tex® Standard
100 product certification.In announcing the new offices, the institute also announced that the U.S.
Consumer Products Safety Commission has accredited it as an independent testing laboratory to
assess total lead content in products for children up to 12 years of age.
