ST. PAUL, Minn. — August 13, 2015 — Safe Reflections, the globally recognized leader in enhanced visibility and reflective solutions for the occupational safety, consumer active wear apparel and military training markets, has opened a new headquarters for its Asia business unit in New Taipei City, Taiwan.
The new facility is located in the Tucheng District near the Taiwan Textile Research Institute, bringing Safe Reflections closer to major fabric and garment trim suppliers as well as local Safe Reflections customers.
“While we have had a presence in Asia for over five years, including a dedicated sales team, our new facility will help us further support our rapidly growing global consumer activewear business,” said Chuck Gruber, CEO of Safe Reflections. “For our customers that use Asia-based garment facilities to manufacture their products, this will create efficiencies and allow us to be more responsive to their needs and deadlines.”
The new facility will be used as a sales office, wash-testing lab, material warehouse and a reflective converting facility for the company’s reflective trims, rolled goods and logo heat transfer business. No jobs will be eliminated at Safe Reflections’ growing North American operation as a result of opening the Taiwan facility; in fact, the company expects additional demand from Asia to drive additional job growth at its Saint Paul, Minn. headquarters.
“Safe Reflections currently supplies more than 150 garment manufacturing facilities in Asia from its Minnesota headquarters,” said Hien Phung, Business Director for Safe Reflections, Asia. “Now with a converting presence in Asia, we will be able to better serve the increased demand for our unique colorized high-brightness reflective material.”
The facility is being commissioned in a phased approach, with the regional sales, customer service and accounting functions now operating, testing and warehouse facilities opening in Q3 2015 and the reflective converting capabilities commencing in January 2016.
