Oerlikon Balzers Announces New Coating Center In India

Germany-based Oerlikon Balzers — a supplier of surface technologies to improve the performance and
durability of precision components, and tools for the metal and plastics processing industries; and
a Switzerland-based Oerlikon Group company — has opened a new coating center in Chandigarh, India.
The center is its eighth coating center in India, and will help serve existing customers faster
than ever and attract new business in this economic center of the Punjab region, the company
reports.

Oerlikon Balzers now has 90 such coating centers worldwide. “Despite current economic
uncertainties we further invest proactively in our global footprint,” said Hans Brändle, Ph.D.,
CEO, Oerlikon Balzers.

Oerlikon Balzers reports its Balinit® coatings are extremely thin and exceptionally hard, and
have a smooth surface. The coatings significantly reduce friction and wear and offer protection to
such textile machinery components as weaving machine weft clamps, yarn guides, grippers and cutting
edges.
