The China-based offices of the Hohenstein Institutes — a Germany-based research and service center
with offices worldwide — recently held four seminars in Guangzhou,

Shanghai, Hangzhou and Qingdao, China.

quality assurance specialists from its Germany-based headquarters.

More than 300 representatives from the textile manufacturing and export industry throughout
China participated in the seminars, which covered information on tests for harmful substances,
including the Oeko-Tex Standard 100, as well as the institutes’ on-site inspection service and
performance tests on all types of textiles. Other popular topics included tests on workmanship and
fit, wear comfort and the requirements of the Eco Passport for dyes and chemical auxiliaries.

Because of the high demand for this type of information event, the overseas offices of the
Hohenstein Institutes currently are planning further seminars in China as well as in other major
textile-producing countries.
