Freudenberg Far Eastern Spunweb Joins Sustainable Apparel Coalition

Taiwan-based Freudenberg Far Eastern Spunweb Co. — a producer of Vildona® brand nonwovens used in footwear and leather goods, and a subsidiary of Germany-based nonwovens producer Freudenberg Nonwovens — has joined the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC).

As a member of the organization, the company will place high emphasis on sustainable practices and environmental friendliness, and will strive “to avoid environmental damage when manufacturing clothes, footwear and home textiles, exerting a positive influence on people and communities during their business activities” in accordance with SAC’s principles.

“When manufacturing Vildona products, we have long since done without chemical bonding agents,” said Lin Gowming, president, Freudenberg Far Eastern Spunweb Co. “Eighty percent of our raw materials are recycled, and we make sure that our products are 100-percent recoverable. In the meantime, we have achieved a high quality level in production. But we would like to develop even further in terms of environmental protection and sustainability in the future. The SAC will certainly support us in doing so,” Lin added.
