ShanghaiTex 2009 will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in
June.

Exhibitors’ displays of textile technologies and services will be organized in six zones:
Knitting & Hosiery Machinery; Printing, Dyeing & Finishing Machinery; Textile Chemicals;
Spinning, Nonwoven & Techtextile Machinery; Weaving Machinery; and Spare Parts &
Accessories.

China has not been immune to the economic upheaval taking place throughout the world, and its
government has responded by introducing new tax incentives that are expected to help bolster its
textile industry, which has had to deal with growing costs for labor as well as raw materials, and
also has had to face competition from lower-cost countries. Benefits to the industry extend as well
to textile machinery manufacturers, which can expect to increase their sales of machinery and
equipment to Chinese textile and apparel manufacturers as a result.

ShanghaiTex 2009 organizers include Shanghai International Exhibition Co. Ltd., Shanghai
Textile Technology Service & Exhibition Center and Hong Kong-based Adsale Exhibition Services
Ltd.  Show sponsors include Shanghai Textile Holding (Group) Corp.; China Council for the
Promotion of International Trade, Shanghai Sub-Council; and China Chamber of International
Commerce.
