service center in Hangzhou to offer customers in Hangzhou and Zhejiang province basic, advanced and
customized training courses; technical assistance; testing services; and weaving know-how; as well
as Original Spare Parts service.

Operating in China through its local sales representative, Smitco Ltd., the
company has had a presence in Hong Kong, Guangdong province, Shanghai and Hangzhou for nearly two
years. Smit recently held an inauguration ceremony for its newest Smit Textile Service Centre, to
which it invited customers from Zhejiang province as well as Jiangsu, Guandong, Fujian and other
provinces.

Smit President Luciano Corain and Smitco Chairman Kora Yam opened the festivities with a
ribbon-cutting ceremony and then led guests on a tour of the new facility, which includes a weaving
room equipped with air-jet and rapier machines, a conference room for seminars, and a laboratory to
provide electronic assistance.
