BJ Textile Processing Installs Monforts Toptex Unit

BJ Textile Processing Ltd., Chennai, India, has taken delivery of a Toptex compressive shrinkage
unit from Germany-based A. Monforts Textilmaschinen GmbH & Co. KG. The machine, which will be
used in the processing of BJ Textile’s knitwear products, is the first Toptex unit to be installed
in India and joins two Monforts Montex stenters the company already has installed.

BJ Textile is using the Monforts machinery to process a range of fabrics up to 220
centimeters wide. Most fall within a weight range of 140 to 150 grams per square meter (g/m2), but
a substantial volume of fabrics weighing 320 g/m2 are also processed.

Sanjay Jayapalan, director, BJ Textile, expressed approval with the decision to use Monforts
technology in its operations, saying, “You are not simply purchasing a machine, it is not just iron
and steel, it is the synchronisation of technology.

“Eighty percent of your finished product is down to having the right machine, the right
technology. The rest is in the expertise of your manpower, who are able to make the technology work
to its full advantage,” he added. “We sent two technicians to Germany to train with Monforts, and
it has been an excellent investment.”

The company purchased the second Montex stenter and the Toptex unit through ATE, Monforts’
distributor in India.
