Karl Mayer Signs Continuation Agreement With Southern Yangtse University

In 2001, Germany-based Karl Mayer Textilmaschinenfabrik GmbH established and supported the Warp
Knitting Research Center (WKRC) at Wuxi, China-based Southern Yangtse University for the purpose of
integrating warp-knitting technology into the Chinese market. Services offered by the WKRC include
training, products, education and training, assisting textile companies, and promoting the exchange
of information within the sector.

Karl Mayer and Southern Yangtse recently signed an agreement that continues this
relationship. Under terms of the new agreement, Karl Mayer will continue to support the WKRC for
five more years. Chen Jian, president of the university, and Fritz P. Mayer, managing director,
Karl Mayer, signed the cooperation agreement at a ceremony held at the university. Yang Zengxing,
general manager of Karl Mayer Textile Machinery Co. Ltd., Wujin, China; and Fang Kuanjun, dean of
the School of Textiles and Clothing, also were present at the signing.
