India Forms New Wool Industry Organization
On the recommendation of India’s Ministry of Textiles, the country’s Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT)has set up a new export promotion council for the wool industry. DGFT said in a public notice the new Wool Industry Export Promotion Organization (Wool Texpro), to be chaired by Ravikant Kapur, president, Wool Research Association, will cover all products manufactured by the wool mills, including products made of wool and wool blends.“The important function of the new council would be to fulfill the needs of the woolen sector for improvements in marketing, buyer-seller meets and to closely interact with government and its agencies for facilitating growth in exports, seek complete refund of taxes and removal of other barriers affecting manufacturing and exports,”Kapur said.
